Glynis Bylin is the Auxiliary Programs Director at the Touchstone Community School. She directs the Extended Day Program, other after-school programs provided by outside vendors, and coordinates rentals of the buildings/grounds. She has also planned and organized the 2011 TCS Summer Enrichment Program. In her two and a half years at Touchstone, Glynis has been employed as an aide in the pre-school and 5-6 year old classrooms, as an EDP employee, and as the creator and presenter of the 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. program. She has run her own successful summer program out of her home for the summers of 2009 and 2010. Glynis acquired an HDE from the Cape Town Teachers’ College in South Africa and has spent much of her adult life educating children from ages 3 to 12. As the training manager of a national department store chain in South Africa, she trained the management team and ran the two-year Retail Merchandising and Buying Diploma. Glynis is also a Royal Academy of Ballet graduate and has managed her own ballet school. She is passionate about all forms of art, the outdoors and sailing. She loves to share her interests with others and laugh as often as possible.
Kassie Snowdon is a music teacher in the Lynn Public Schools. Kassie graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in Music Education. During her time there, she was the Musical Director for four WSU Musical Theater Guild productions. She has worked at Touchstone as both a substitute and as extra help during events such as Field Day. Kassie has spent the past two summers working at Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp as a violin teacher.
Seth Mansur is completing his student teaching in Middle School Science, and works enthusiastically with the Touchstone Garden Program. He has gardened much of his life, facilitating the UMass Amherst Student Garden until he graduated, and has several years of summer program experience. Seth began raising chickens in high school and recently made arrangements to move two chickens to the Touchstone garden where they are happily laying eggs and basking in the attention from the students.
Sharon Borg is an Certified Early Childhood Educator with many years teaching students from pre-school to elementary ages. She is currently teaching as a classroom aide in the 5 and 6 year old class at Touchstone Community School. She has a M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. She loves developing creative experiences for the children that invoke their imaginations, curiosity and unique talents.
Lisa Walden is the mother of three children, two Touchstone alums and one current Touchstone student. She has worked at Touchstone as a teacher’s aide, substitute teacher, and in Touchstone’s after school program. She has run several cooking, crafting, and sewing enrichment classes, is an avid quilter, and loves sharing these interests with children.
Jozie Ewart-Weisman, BA, RYT-200 has been practicing yoga for over ten years. At the age of 15 she was introduced to Kripalu Yoga and returned to the Kripalu Yoga Center in 2009 to complete her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Sharing the light of yoga has become Jozie’s mission, and she has been working towards it ever since. Jozie is also an Elementary Educator licensed in the state of Massachusetts. She has training in Color Me Yoga and YogaEd, two programs that help to bring yoga to children. In 2010 Jozie received the Rachel Greene Memorial Grant to bring yoga to students in disadvantaged schools and teaches private lessons to students with other special needs. Recently Jozie completed both Journey Dance Teacher Training and Yoga Warriors Teacher Training. As a former dancer trained in Classical Ballet, Modern, and Jazz, Jozie has found a new way to move through space that is full of awareness and compassion and is currently the only Journey Dance teacher in the Central Mass / Worcester area. Yoga Warriors is a therapeutic yoga system especially designed for those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and classes seek to heal the wounds of war one breath at a time. Jozie is passionate about her work. Her mission and teachings come from the heart. In any class with Jozie, the student can expect to find a fun, positive approach, and an experience filled with light and grace.
