Lauren (Beane) Barnatt

Class of 1994

Looking back on her years at Touchstone Community School, Lauren reflects, “I think Touchstone made me a much more creative person, and let me feel more free in my thoughts and writing due to the fact that I wasn’t given such strong constraints as a child. I always found my writing/communication skills to be more advanced then my peers as I went through school.”

Laurent went on to Whitinsville Christian School where she was graduated at a member of the class of 2000, and she then attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications in 2004.

She began her career at Genzyme Corporation in Framingham, MA in 2000 and has been employed there ever since; she married Jason Barnatt in 2008 and has three beautiful stepchildren, Kylie 14, Carter 12, and Caden 9. The couple purchased a house in 2009 and Lauren has really enjoyed the process of decorating and making it a home.

Lauren says that she has many favorite Touchstone memories; she loved working on the “Galloping Globe” (a school newspaper) with Dana Kiefer and Eric Wierenga, reading Roald Dahl’s books (favorites being Matilda and Charlie and Chocolate Factory), painting of the tiles for the common room wall (which still hang there today!), May Day and dancing with the ribbons around the poll, The Voyage of the Mimi research and presentation project, and Supper Bunny (a old MAC computer game).
