Touchstone Community School was founded 30 years ago by parents and educators who were convinced that children learn best when they are respected as individuals and actively engaged in their own learning in away that’s different from traditional methods. Today, we remain true to our core set principles: A balanced and integrated curriculum; the child as an active learner; competent and caring staff; a challenging and supportive environment; and a meaningful partnership with parents.
Touchstone’s mission is to gather families that share this vision and to offer a child-centered educational program and environment that will nurture competent, thoughtful and enthusiastic life-long learners.
While we have remained true to our philosophy for over thirty years, these skills are more critical than ever, as our children face the 21st century. Academics and educators of note have identified these as critical requirements for the future.
